Whether or not you plan on using formula, you may want to ask for pre-mixed formula sample bottles when you’re at the hospital and pediatrician’s office.

The bottles can fit onto Medela or Ameda breast pumps, and the lids are wonderful because they are made from 1 piece.

If the bottles are glass, they can be steam sanitized; however, I am not sure if the plastic ones can be sanitized.
Do not sanitize any metal lids in the microwave.

You may also ask if any Medela collection bottles are available for you to use. Most hospitals have the collection bottles in 80 ml/ 2.9 oz., but they usually use them for preemies or if you see the lactation consultant.

It’s worth the breath to ask.
