Double strollers Weights with Open & Closed Dimsnsions
My friend was looking for a tandem stroller so I started to research them for myself as well.
What I found was that there was a lot of information, but it was not in a nice neat location with all the data I wanted. I wanted to know the dimension of the strollers folded so to see if it could fit in my trunk, the open dimensions to know if it could fit through a doorway, and the extra features were so I could take in all the possibilities of all the stroller options out there.
I narrowed my research down to double strollers less than 35lb with great to OK reviews. If they had very bad reviews I left them out. Reviews on strollers are easy to find, but make sure you check out some reviews from Mothers Of Multiples/ Mothers of Twins websites or even contacting a local chapter to find out what long term double stroller users like best.
If you want to find better prices on the strollers check out e-bay, your local resale shop, or if you are lucky enough to live near the South-Eastern part of Michigan, you can usually find double strollers at Mom2Mom sales for about the same price as a resale shop.
Some things you will want to know before looking into a double stroller are:
* A typical door opening is 36 inches for public spaces.
* What is your trunk size?
* What is your price limit?
* What features do you need, do you want, and what can be added as an aftermarket product?
* Do I shop a lot?
** If I shop a lot, can I handle borrowing the double stroller at the shopping mall if I do need a large storage space? (Khols, Marshall Fields, and Sears offer double strollers for free when you walk in as long as they are not already taken, you can also call ahead to have one saved)
* Can I use a sling and single stroller for a while instead of a double stroller?
