Siblings Sleeping together in the same room
Our girls, 2 1/2 years old and 9 months old , just started sleeping together through the night in the same room. They both have their own beds; however we had been having the baby sleep in our room until we went to sleep because she had a nightly fussy time even if she was in a sling.
Our oldest would also fuss and try to get our attention by re-tucking her (because she came to the door to ask us to re-tuck her), just general fussing because she needed to be snugged, or (my personal favorite) to cover up her foot… because she couldn’t put it under the covers by herself.
For the past few weeks we decided to put the girls together even if they did not seem tired or were over tired (which use to mean more fussing). It seems to get better each day and we enjoy the giggles from both girls each night. The fussing has also all but melted away with laughter… now we just have to have a no crib rule for the older one along with no turning the lights on to see each other. If we had only tried this out months ago we would have been less stressed parents at night.
BTW the night time routine for our girls use to be over 1 1/2 hours on some nights. Now it may be that long, but there aren’t any tears only giggles.
